Preparing the wood

Each piece is crafted from natural driftwood into a small landscape tree, so the exact shape and branching vary. Disinfect it before use, for example with Safe4 disinfectant, and rinse well. The wood is not pre-soaked, so the time it takes to sink varies from piece to piece. It is safe for fish, shrimp and turtles and also works in terrariums, combined with rocks, plants and moss.

Good to know

Soak new wood before use until it sinks, and expect some tannins to tint the water at first; regular partial water changes and activated carbon will clear it.
