Taking your bird out safely in UAE weather
For vet visits or a drive to another emirate, move your bird in a small travel cage or carrier rather than the home cage, and cover three sides with a light cloth to keep it calm. Run the car’s AC before loading the bird, keep the carrier out of direct sun, and never leave a bird in a parked car, where summer cabin temperatures climb past 50°C in minutes. Offer pieces of apple or cucumber instead of a water dish, which spills on the move. Bird travel accessories your bird already knows, such as its house or cushion, help it settle faster at the other end. From May to September, travel early in the morning or after sunset.
