How to comb properly

Start with the wide-toothed side, working in small sections from the skin outwards and holding the hair at the base so you do not tug the skin while easing out knots. Once the wide side glides through, switch to the fine side to lift remaining loose hair and smooth the coat; this is also the side to use on the face, ears and paws. Combing after brushing is a good way to check that no hidden tangles remain close to the skin, especially behind the ears, under the legs and around the collar.
