JBL Sansibar Orange is a naturally coloured orange sand for freshwater and saltwater aquariums and aqua-terrariums, with no dyes added. The grains measure 0.2 to 0.6 mm, and their fine, dense texture keeps mulm and other dirt resting on top of the sand rather than sinking into it, which makes regular cleaning easier. Because the natural grains are round, they protect the delicate barbels and skin of fish that dig and grub for food, such as loaches and armoured catfish. No unwanted pollutants are released into the water, so fish, invertebrates and plants can all live on it.

Good to know
Rinse the sand with tap water before use to wash off dust from transport. For plants, lay it about 6-8 cm deep over a nutrient substrate such as JBL AquaBasis; it is not fully suitable for undergravel heating cables.
