Choosing lighting and heating for a warm climate
Light needs depend on what lives in the tank. Fish-only tanks need modest light, planted tanks need a fixture with a plant-growth spectrum, and corals need high-output LED or metal halide. Start around eight hours a day on a timer and adjust if algae appears.

Metal halide lamps run hot and can add noticeable heat to the water, while an aquarium LED light runs much cooler, which makes LED the easier choice for aquarium lights in Dubai through the summer. Hang pendants at the height the maker recommends and pair them with fans or a chiller if the water climbs above the range your livestock prefers.
