Picking the right size

Alcott’s chart lists Small for chests of 18-22 inches, Medium 23-28 inches, Large 25-30 inches and XL 31-39 inches, measured around the widest part of the chest just behind the front legs. The straps also get wider as the sizes go up, from 3/8 inch on the Small to 1 inch on the XL, so if your dog falls where Medium and Large overlap, the Large gives a broader strap for a heavier or stronger dog. Alcott adds neoprene padding, reflective stitching for visibility in low light and a control handle on the back for keeping your dog close at kerbs or gates.
