Andis UltraEdge skip-tooth blades are made for rough cutting thick, coarse or matted coats: the wider gaps between the teeth guide dense hair into the cutter, so you can take a coat down quickly before finishing with a full-cut blade. The carbonised steel holds its edge for longer, the chrome finish resists rust, and the blade fits Andis detachable blade clippers in the AG, AGC, BDC, BG, DBLC, FHC, MBG and SMC series.

Choosing a blade

The blades in this range do different jobs. Skip-tooth blades (size 5 at 6.3 mm and size 4 at 9.5 mm) guide thick, coarse or matted hair into the cutter, so they are best for the first rough cut. Full-cut FC blades in the same lengths leave a smoother, more even finish. The longer HT blades, 5/8HT at 16 mm and 3/4HT at 19 mm, leave more coat for a fuller, natural look. Always clip a clean, dry, brushed-out coat.

Good to know

Brush hair from the blade after use and add a few drops of clipper oil to keep it cutting smoothly. Check the blade suits your clipper model, and test its temperature against your wrist during long grooms.
