How far each bottle goes

API’s dose is 1ml for every 20 US gallons (about 76 litres), and one ounce treats up to 600 US gallons. That means the 1.25oz bottle treats about 750 US gallons (roughly 2,800 litres), the 4oz about 2,400 gallons (9,000 litres), the 8oz about 4,800 gallons (18,000 litres) and the 16oz about 9,600 gallons (36,000 litres). The smaller bottles suit a single home aquarium, while the larger sizes make sense for big tanks, several aquariums or frequent water changes. Add it to new water before it goes into the tank, dosing for the volume you are adding.
