Aqua Medic Antiphos Fe 5000 Ml Features Highly active iron based granulated phosphate and silicate remover for fresh and salt water aquariums to counteract unwanted algae growth. Antiphos Fe (GFO) does not contain aluminium and is completely non toxic to plants and amimals and is very well suited for use in reef aquariums. 500g can treat a normally stocked aquarium for 3-6 months depending on the phosphate load. Antiphos Fe can bind approximately 10g phosphate/kg. Check the aquarium phosphate level on a regular basis to determine if the media requires replacement.

Using it effectively

Rinse the granules in aquarium water to remove fine dust, then place them in a filter bag in a spot with steady flow or, ideally, in a dedicated media reactor. Start with a modest amount in reef tanks so phosphate falls gradually rather than suddenly, which corals tolerate better. Test phosphate regularly and replace the media once readings begin to rise again. Keep the tub tightly sealed between uses so the granules stay dry. The large 5-litre tub suits big systems, several tanks or long-term use.
