Included in the anodized aluminum housing are high-quality reflectors for optimal performance. The sleek suspension cables, which are included, can be adjusted to any height. Metal halide ballasts sold separately, T5 ballasts are included.

Setting up the lighting

Choose between the 300W and 450W versions according to your tank: the higher wattage puts more light into larger or deeper reef aquariums, while the 300W model suits smaller set-ups. Because the halide and T5 circuits switch independently, you can run the tubes alone for a gentle morning and evening period and add the halide lamps for the midday peak, ideally on two separate timers. When the unit is new, hang it higher than your target height and lower it over a few weeks so corals can adjust to the stronger light. Leave space above the fixture for heat to escape and keep it clear of salt spray.
