Aqua One Moray 700 Internal Aquarium Filter – 700 L/h, 3 Chambers

The Aqua One Moray 700 is a three-chamber internal filter that works like a small canister filter inside the tank, pumping up to 700 litres an hour. It comes with biofoam, ceramic bio balls and activated carbon for mechanical, chemical and biological filtration, in interchangeable cartridges. Suction cups fix it to a flat side or a corner of the aquarium, and the return can be set to the top or bottom, with four outlet options, for silent, adaptable running.

Setting it up

As a general guide, many fishkeepers aim for a filter that turns the tank volume over about four to five times an hour, which helps you judge whether 700 litres an hour suits your aquarium. Set the return high to ripple the surface for oxygen, or low for gentler flow near plants. Rinse the biofoam in tank water when flow drops, replace the carbon every few weeks as it becomes exhausted, and leave the ceramic bio balls largely undisturbed so beneficial bacteria build up.

Good to know

Unplug before maintenance, rinse sponges in old tank water rather than tap water to protect beneficial bacteria, and never run the filter dry.
