Trimming plants properly

At 26cm long, these scissors reach deep into larger tanks so you can trim without disturbing the substrate or soaking your arm. Stem plants are best cut just above a leaf node; replant the healthy tops and let the base sprout new side shoots, which makes the plant bushier. Carpeting plants respond well to regular light trims that keep them low and dense, while large rosette plants only need old or damaged leaves removed at the base. Take all cut pieces out of the water so they do not decay, and trim before a water change so floating debris goes out with the old water. Rinse the blades in fresh water and dry them after each use, as tank water leaves mineral deposits, and keep the tips covered when stored.
