It is a highly digestible feed based on whole egg, which contains all necessary nutrients, vitamins, minerals, trace elements and amino acids for a quick growth and development of the young.

Hand feeding with a syringe

A 10 ml syringe suits the chicks of budgies, cockatiels, lovebirds and other small to medium parrots; larger chicks taking bigger meals may need a larger syringe. Prepare the rearing formula fresh for each feed, draw it up and push out any air bubbles before you start. Hold the chick upright and introduce the tip from the left side of the beak towards the right, where the crop sits, then press the plunger slowly while the chick pumps and swallows, pausing whenever it stops. Watch the crop fill rather than counting millilitres. Wash the syringe in hot water straight after every feed and let it dry, and replace it once the markings fade or the plunger stops gliding smoothly. If you are new to hand rearing, ask an experienced breeder or an avian vet to show you the technique first.
