Treating fungus effectively

Fungus usually takes hold where a fish is already injured or stressed, so check water quality before and during treatment and fix any problem with ammonia, nitrite or temperature. If only one or two fish are affected, treating them in a separate hospital tank avoids exposing healthy fish, plants and filter bacteria to the medicine. Check the label before use if you keep shrimp, snails or other invertebrates, as many treatments are not suitable for them. Keep aeration strong during the course, and do a partial water change once it is finished. Follow the pack directions or your vet’s advice.
