Planning your nano reef

At 32 x 32 x 32cm the GS7 holds roughly 32 litres gross, the most water in the Cubey range, which makes temperature and salinity swings a little easier to manage than in the smaller cubes. Because the equipment is supplied with the tank, you mainly need marine salt, a refractometer, a heater and live rock or ceramic rock to get started. Stock lightly: a pair of small fish such as clownfish or gobies, a few snails and hermit crabs, and hardy soft corals suit a cube this size. Stand it on a level, sturdy surface that can take the full weight, out of direct sunlight.

Good to know

Cycle the tank fully before adding livestock, and top up evaporation with fresh RO water to keep salinity stable.
