Bathing a cat calmly

Most cats accept a bath more calmly with some preparation: trim the claws and brush out tangles beforehand, especially on long-haired cats, and put a rubber mat in the sink so your cat has a secure grip. Use only a few centimetres of warm water and pour it from a jug rather than a running tap, which many cats dislike. Keep the head dry and wipe the face with a damp cloth instead. Afterwards, wrap your cat in a warm towel and keep it indoors until the coat is completely dry.

Wet the coat with lukewarm water, lather a small amount, keep it away from the eyes and rinse thoroughly. For external use only; dry your pet well afterwards.
