Matching the tool to your pet

Choose by both your pet’s size and its coat. For dogs the range runs from XSmall through Small, Medium and Large to XLarge, each made in Short Hair and Long Hair versions, and the bigger sizes have a wider edge for covering large bodies quickly. The two cat tools, Short Hair and Long Hair, are for medium and large cats, which FURminator puts at over 10 pounds (about 4.5kg). Pick the hair version by the length of the topcoat, and refit the Edge Guard after each session to protect the teeth.

Use on a dry coat for 10 to 20 minutes once a week, more often in shedding season, and avoid sensitive areas and broken skin.
