Choosing 11 or 17 teeth

Two versions are available. The 11-tooth comb has wider-spaced blades for thick, heavy coats and larger mats, while the 17-tooth comb has closer blades for finer coats, smaller pets and neat finishing. Start with the dematting side on a dry, brushed coat, holding each mat at its base so you do not pull the skin, and work in short strokes. Then switch to the thinning side to clear loose undercoat. The blades are sharp, so store the comb out of reach of children.
