Quantity and laying it
The 3 litre pack weighs about 2kg and suits small tanks or the planting zones of a larger layout; Hobby also makes a 12 litre pack of about 8kg. Because Aqualit is lime-free, Hobby states it has no effect on water hardness, so it can be used in soft-water setups. Its F17 factor refers to 17 nutrients and trace elements that support root growth. Spread it as the bottom layer where plants will root and cap it with gravel or sand so it stays in place; the porous grain lets water and oxygen reach the roots. Plant carefully so the layers do not mix.
