The Hobby Thermo Spotlight Eco is a 28 W halogen basking lamp for terrariums. Its tightly bundled beam creates a defined warm spot where heat-loving reptiles can bask, then move away to cooler areas, controlling their body temperature as they would outdoors. At the same time it raises the air temperature in the enclosure, and a UV-A component in its light encourages natural behaviour. Compared with conventional incandescent bulbs it uses around 30% less energy. It is a special-purpose terrarium lamp made to EU rules.
