The Hobby UV Reptile Vital is a powerful UV lamp for large terrariums and reptile species with a high need for UV radiation. It provides UV-B, UV-A, light and heat to support vitamin D3 production and natural behaviour. This lamp is rated at 100W.

Choosing a wattage
The 100W lamp is designed for reptiles from desert regions and reaches its best UV-B output of 150 µW/cm² at about 50cm from the animal, giving light, heat and UV-A/B from one bulb. The 160W version produces 250 µW/cm² at about 55cm and around 2,840 lumens, making it the better choice for tall terrariums and basking species. Measure the distance from the lamp to the basking spot before choosing, and fit it in a ceramic socket rated for the wattage. Hobby notes that it is not meant for room lighting, and you should never look directly into the lamp.
Good to know
Keep the recommended distance between lamp and animals, and replace the lamp as UV output falls over time.
