Horizone Pegon Artemia Cyst Blue Ring 80 CapsulesArtemia Cysts (Brine Shrimp Eggs) are harvested from salt concentrative pounds or salt lakes. Nauplii hatched from the cysts provide one of nature’s finest nutritious foods for tiny shrimp and fish. Hatching Instructions: 1. Use a clear plastic or glass bottle for small quantities. For larger quantities use a 10-55 gal. (38208 L) fibreglass tank. 2. Use clean sea water or artificial salt water with a specific gravity of 1.01 to 1.02. 3. The optimum pH is 7.5-8.5. If necessary, add an alkaline solution made from soda ash or sodium sulfate to raise the pH. 4. During hatching, use sufficient aeration to keep all eggs in circulation at all times. 5. The optimum hatching temperature is 28-300C.
Hatching and feeding tips
A cone-shaped bottle works well, because constant aeration keeps the eggs rolling more evenly than in a flat container, and a lamp nearby helps hold the water at 28 to 30°C. Most nauplii hatch within about a day. Switch off the air, wait a few minutes for the empty shells to float and the orange nauplii to sink, then siphon them out and rinse them in fresh water before feeding. Store unopened cysts somewhere cool and dry.
