JBL Clipsafe Vario

JBL Clipsafe Vario is a pair of hose holders that keep aquarium hoses fixed to the tank rim and the bucket during water changes and filter maintenance. Each plastic clip simply pushes onto the edge, and a ratchet closes the clamp around hoses from 9 to 27 mm across, so the hose cannot slip out and spill water over the floor. You can also park the hose in a clip when it is not in use. Foam pads are included to protect the glass where the clip grips the pane.

Using it during water changes

Clip one holder on the aquarium and the other on the bucket, then press the hose into each so neither end can jump out once the water starts to flow. The ratchet adjusts to hoses from 9 to 27 mm, which covers common sizes such as the 12/16 mm and 16/22 mm hoses used with external filters. Check the edge thickness before buying, as the clamp grips panes and bucket rims of up to about 2.5 cm, and fit the foam pads to protect the glass.

Good to know

Rinse the clips after use and let them dry, especially after working with saltwater, so the ratchet keeps moving freely.
