JBL ProAquaTest Lab Marin is a complete test case for checking eleven water values in marine aquariums. It covers pH, oxygen, carbonate hardness, calcium and magnesium, plus copper, ammonium, nitrite, nitrate, phosphate and silicate. Each test is straightforward: fill a cuvette with aquarium water, add the indicator, then either compare the colour with the scale or count the drops until the colour changes. A laboratory-style comparator system allows for any natural colouring in the water, so readings stay reliable. The reagent bottles are childproof, and everything is stored in a waterproof plastic case.

Building a testing routine
For a reef tank, testing carbonate hardness, calcium and magnesium weekly shows how quickly corals are using them, so you can adjust dosing before levels drift. Ammonium and nitrite tests matter most in new or newly stocked tanks, while nitrate and phosphate help explain algae problems. The copper test is useful before adding invertebrates, especially after medicating, and the oxygen test helps on hot days. Note each result on the report sheets supplied so you can spot trends, and reorder only the reagents you use up.

Refill reagents are sold separately. Rinse vials and syringes after each test, keep the case closed and store it away from heat, sunlight and children.
