Juwel BioPlus – Fine One (for Bioflow One)

Juwel BioPlus Fine One is a fine filter sponge made for the Juwel Bioflow One internal filter. It removes small particles for clearer water and provides a surface for beneficial filter bacteria, as genuine Juwel replacement media.

Coarse or fine, and sizing

The range comes in two grades. The coarse sponge has large pores that keep water moving quickly and evenly, which suits oxygen-loving filter bacteria, while the fine sponge has much smaller pores that slow the flow and offer an even larger surface for biological filtration. Juwel suggests replacing a coarse sponge after about 3 months and a fine one after about 9 to 12 months, and never changing all the blue sponges at once. Choose the size by filter: Fine One fits the Bioflow One in the Primo 60 and 70 LED; M suits tanks such as the Rio 125, 180 and 240, Lido 120 and 200, Vision 180 and Trigon 190; L suits the Rio 350 and Vision 260; XL suits the Rio 450, Vision 450 and Trigon 350.

Good to know

Rinse the sponge in old aquarium water rather than tap water to keep the bacteria alive.
