Matching tubes and units

This family covers T5 tubes and twin-tube light units. The tube length, not just the wattage, must match your light unit: the 1047mm and 1200mm tubes are both 54W, for example, so check the length printed on your old tube. Nature tubes are made for freshwater set-ups with plants, while Marine tubes are intended for saltwater tanks. Of the light units, the 70cm and 80cm models each take two 28W tubes (590mm) and the 92cm model takes two 35W tubes (742mm). In a twin unit you can pair two different tube types to fine-tune the light.

Good to know

Replace T5 tubes about once a year, as light output falls over time even while they still light up.
