Good-quality hay provides the fibre that supports natural digestion, and because timothy is lower in calcium than alfalfa it may help reduce the risk of urinary problems. Contains no artificial colours or preservatives.

How to offer them

These cubes are a treat and a chewing aid rather than a replacement for loose hay, which should still make up most of the diet. Gnawing on the compressed hay helps wear down continuously growing teeth, and the cubes also suit guinea pigs and chinchillas. Offer one or two cubes a day, either in the food bowl or hidden around the enclosure to encourage foraging. Check the bag for damp before serving, and throw away any cube that looks or smells mouldy.
