Choosing the right stick

Each stick is matched to the bird it is made for: Canary & Finch and Cockatiel come in 4 oz (113 g) sticks, while Parakeet and Parrot come in 3.5 oz (99 g) sticks. Choose the version for your species so the seed size suits its beak. In a cage with several birds, hang more than one stick so a dominant bird cannot guard the only treat. Position it close to a perch but not over the food or water dishes.

Good to know

Hang the stick in the cage and offer no more than one stick per bird per week, alternating varieties. Remove the hanger once the treat is finished and keep fresh water available.
