Choosing pins and size

Kruuse recommends the hard-pin version for long, thick and double coats, while both pin types are designed to lift loose undercoat without damaging the top coat. Sizes run from Small to Large: as a guide, the Medium soft-pin head is about 8 x 5cm and the Large hard-pin head about 8.7 x 7cm. A small head suits cats, toy breeds and tight spots such as legs and faces, while a large head speeds up grooming on big dogs.
