Dosing and sizes

Maxspect suggests starting with 10ml of resin per 100 litres of aquarium water, then testing phosphate again three days later. If the level has dropped, carry on; if it is unchanged or higher, add more resin and recheck after another three days. The resin is designed to work slowly, giving corals time to adjust as phosphate falls, which helps avoid the stress of a sudden drop. As a guide, the 250ml pack can remove 3ppm of phosphate from 1,000 litres of marine or reef water, and the 500ml pack from 2,000 litres.

Good to know

Rinse the resin before use, run it in a media bag or reactor with steady flow, and test phosphate regularly so you know when to replace it.
