Which pets it suits
The 1/2-inch bar spacing suits adult rats, ferrets, chinchillas and similar-sized pets, but young rats, mice and hamsters can squeeze through gaps that size, so it is not the right home for them. Choose a spot away from draughts, direct sun and radiators, at a height where you can easily reach the shelves. Fleece liners or bedding on the shelves make them comfier for feet, and hammocks clipped to the attachment points give your pets extra resting spots.
Good to know
Add hammocks, tubes and toys to the attachment points, and remove the shelf inserts and pans regularly for cleaning.
