Fitting and changing liners

To fit a liner, open it out, push it into the corners of the empty pan and fold the edges over the rim, so the drawstring sits outside where it is easy to reach. Smooth out wrinkles before adding litter, as folds trap waste and make scooping harder. Cats that dig enthusiastically can snag liners with their claws, so a slightly deeper litter layer helps protect the plastic. At changing time, pull the drawstring tight, lift the bag out and tie it. Twelve liners cover about three months of weekly changes.
