PetSafe Microchip Cat Flap – Brown

The PetSafe Microchip Cat Flap reads your cat’s implanted microchip using RFID, so only the cats you have programmed can come in, with no collar or key needed. Other cats, wildlife and strays stay locked out. A manual 4-way lock lets you control access, and the flap reads FDX-B (15-digit) microchips, the most common type in cats.

Fitting the flap

A confident DIYer can fit it into a wooden, PVC or uPVC door, while glass, metal and brick need PetSafe’s installation adaptor and a wall fitting needs the tunnel extension, both sold separately, so check your door type before ordering. The flap can be programmed for up to 40 microchipped cats, runs on batteries with a low-battery indicator and has a draught excluder to help keep heat in. The brown finish blends well with darker doors.

Good to know

Your cat must have a compatible microchip: chips with 10 digits, letters, or numbers starting 977 or 98514 are not supported. Programme your cat into the flap first, then prop it open with treats nearby to help your cat learn.
