Offering treat sticks

Hang the stick close to a perch your canary already uses, so it can reach it easily while it pecks and forages. Offer one stick at a time and keep the second sealed in the pack so it stays fresh. Treat sticks are an extra rather than a main meal, so check that your canary is still eating its usual seed mix and that it does not fill up on the stick alone. In an aviary with several birds, hang more than one stick so every bird gets a turn. Remove any leftover pieces once the stick is finished, and keep fresh water available.
