Choosing and caring for blades

Four finishing lengths are available, and the number tells you how much coat stays on: the 4F leaves 9.5mm for a soft, fuller finish, the 5F leaves 6.3mm, the 7F leaves 3.2mm for a short, neat trim, and the 10F takes coat down to 1.5mm for hygiene areas, pads and close detail work. The F marks a finishing blade with full, closely set teeth, which gives a smoother result on the body. These blades only fit Shernbao clippers made for this blade system, so check your clipper model before ordering. To change a blade, switch off the clipper, slide the new blade onto the hinge until it clicks, and test it on a small area first. Blades heat up during long sessions, so touch the back of the blade to your wrist now and then and swap or cool it when it feels warm. Brush out hair, apply a drop of blade oil after each groom, and store blades dry in a case.
