Media options and setup
The two spare cartridge slots let you add chemical or extra biological media when needed. Sicce’s media range for its Shark filters includes Bioker and BioTrix for biological filtration, Hypercarbo activated carbon, Zerophos for phosphate removal, and Hyperzeo or Zeocarbomix based on zeolite. Mount the filter vertically in a deeper tank or horizontally in a shallow one, and point the spray bar along the surface to improve gas exchange. Choose media for the problem you want to solve rather than filling every slot at once.

Rinse the sponges in tank water during maintenance, and clean the rotor every few months.
