What to check before buying

The kit only fits TECO chillers from the TK series, so check the model on your chiller’s label before ordering; it is not a standalone steriliser. Because the water is treated inside the chiller, the flow rate through the unit affects how long water is exposed to the light, so follow TECO’s guidance for your model. UV-C clears free-floating algae and germs but does not remove algae already growing on glass or rocks, so keep up regular cleaning and water changes.

Good to know

Unplug before servicing and never look at a lit UV-C lamp. Replace the lamp at the interval TECO recommends, as UV output falls with use even while the lamp still lights.
