Description

The VanPet Bird Toy Natural And Clean 6.4cm is a bulk pack of brightly coloured woven rattan balls, each about 6.4cm across. The open weave makes them light and easy for birds to grip, roll, toss and chew, and they are a handy base for building your own foraging and hanging toys.

Key features of the VanPet Bird Toy Natural

  • Colourful woven rattan balls, approx. 6.4cm diameter
  • Light, open weave that is easy to grip, carry and chew
  • Great for foraging — tuck treats or paper inside
  • Bulk pack (100 pieces) for toy-making and regular replacement

How to use

Scatter a few balls on the cage floor or play top, drop them into a foraging tray, or thread them onto a toy skewer to build your own hanging toy. Hiding treats inside the woven balls turns them into a simple foraging challenge.

Care & safety

Offer balls of a size that suits your bird so they cannot be swallowed, and replace any that have been chewed apart. Keep the spare balls dry and stored in a clean container until needed.

Choosing and using them

This range mixes different designs, from woven grass nests such as the pear-shaped 1226 to long hanging rope toys such as the 70 x 7cm model, so use the sizes in the names to match each one to your bird and cage. Small woven nests suit finches and canaries, while long rope and wood toys give larger birds a climbing route as well as something to pick at. Make sure the toy leaves enough space for your bird to spread its wings and move between perches, and hang it away from food and water dishes so it stays clean. Check the natural fibres and wood every week: trim loose threads that could catch toes, and replace any toy that is badly frayed or heavily soiled. Rotating two or three toys keeps the cage interesting, and placing a new toy near a favourite perch helps a cautious bird get used to it before you move it to its usual spot.
