API Melafix – 4oz

API Melafix is an all-natural antibacterial remedy for infections in aquarium fish, including open wounds, abrasions, tail rot, mouth fungus and eye cloud. It also supports the regrowth of damaged fins and tissue. Fish bought from shops can carry infections that are hard to spot in the early stages, so it is a useful standby when introducing new fish and whenever an infection is suspected but has not yet been diagnosed.

Dosing and when to use

Add 5 ml for every 10 US gallons of aquarium water. To treat a wound or infection, dose daily for 7 days, then make a 25% water change and continue if needed; when adding new fish, dose daily for 3 days to ease the move from shop to home. It can also be used when an infection is suspected but not yet diagnosed. API states it will not harm the biological filter, alter the pH or discolour the water.
