API pH Down lowers the pH of freshwater aquariums, making the water more acidic for fish and plants when the level has risen too high. On the pH scale, 7.0 is neutral, values above it are alkaline and values below are acidic, and because each species has its own preferred range, regular testing matters. The adjuster works fast, is colourless and easy to use, and will not cloud the water. It is free from phosphate and nitrate, so it will not feed algae.

Dosage
Check pH first with an API pH test kit, then add 1 ml per 10 US gallons (about 38 litres). Retest before adding any further dose.
Good to know
Change pH gradually: some fish are sensitive to shifts of more than 0.2 in 24 hours, so take great care with larger corrections.
