API Stress Coat – 16oz

API Stress Coat is a water conditioner that neutralises chlorine, chloramines and heavy metals in tap water so it is safe for your fish. It also contains aloe vera and forms a protective synthetic slime coat on fish, helping to lower stress, support the repair of damaged skin and fins, and reduce electrolyte loss; API says it can cut fish stress by up to 40%. Use it when setting up a new aquarium, at every water change, when adding new fish and whenever fish are handled, netted or bagged for the journey home.

Choosing a bottle size

At the standard dose of 5ml per 10 US gallons, which is roughly 38 litres, the 4oz bottle (about 118ml) treats around 890 litres of water, the 8oz (about 237ml) around 1,790 litres and the 16oz (about 473ml) around 3,580 litres. The small bottle suits a single tank with routine water changes, while the 16oz is better value for large aquariums, several tanks or when you expect to use the double dose after netting or moving fish.
