The metal “ends” shown in the video are not present in the new adapters, so suitable for models with threaded moisture protection. In addition, it is possible to attach with screws (separately purchased) to a plastic cover with, for example, a plastic cover. the whole T5/T8 lamp unit removed.

This AquaEl Adapter Retrofit kit comes with everything you’ll need to fix an AquaEl Leddy Tube (sold separately) into an existing aquarium canopy/hood. The pack contains two adapters (one for each end of the Leddy Tube). They are available in a T5 (approx. 15mm diameter) model, or a T8 (approx. 25mm diameter) model.

Choosing T5 or T8

Check the fluorescent tube your hood currently uses before ordering: a T5 is roughly 15mm across and a T8 roughly 25mm, and the adapter needs to match. Make sure the LED tube you plan to fit suits the length of your hood as well, since the adapters hold the tube rather than change its size. The LED tube itself is sold separately, and if you remove the old lamp unit entirely you will need your own screws to fix the adapters to a plastic cover. Always switch off and unplug the lighting before swapping anything.
