Choosing the right size

Four sizes are listed: Small, Medium, Large and XXL. Because each root is natural, shapes vary and sizes are a guide, so measure the inside height and front-to-back depth of your tank and choose a size that leaves space for plants and swimming room. Small and Medium pieces suit nano and medium tanks, while Large and XXL make a centrepiece in big aquariums. Scrub the wood with a stiff brush and plain water before soaking, never soap, and anchor it under rocks or substrate until it is fully waterlogged.

Good to know

Soak new wood before use until it sinks, and expect some tannins to tint the water at first; regular partial water changes and activated carbon will clear it.
