Choosing and feeding it

Pick the version that matches your birds: Parakeets & Parrots is for budgies, lovebirds and medium to large parakeets and parrots, in 150g or 1kg packs, while Canaries & Exotic Birds suits canaries, finches and other small tropical seed-eaters in a 150g pack. Beaphar suggests it makes up about a quarter of the daily ration. Offer it twice a week outside the breeding season, daily during the moult, and two to three times a day once chicks are more than 24 hours old. A few drops of water can be mixed in to change the texture. Store it below 25°C in a dry place and use within three months of opening, so the 1kg pack is best for aviaries or several birds.
