Sizing and installing it

Two outputs are available, 0.75 HP and 1 HP. Choose the larger unit for bigger systems, warm rooms or tanks with powerful lighting and pumps, since a chiller that has to run constantly works harder and wears faster. A chiller like this does not move water on its own, so it is normally fed by a pump or the outlet of a canister filter or sump, with the hoses kept as short and straight as possible. Because it pushes the heat it removes into the room, place it where air can circulate freely around the vents, never inside a closed cabinet, and keep it away from splashes. Set the target temperature, then check it against a separate thermometer for the first few days. Clean the air intake regularly, as dust on the vents reduces cooling, and avoid setting the chiller and a heater to fight each other.
