Straight or curved blades

Two blade styles are listed. The Straight scissors are the all-rounder for trimming stem plants, cutting through rhizomes and tidying individual leaves. The Curved scissors let you keep the handles above the substrate while the blades lie flat, which makes them the better choice for trimming carpeting plants and mosses evenly. When trimming stems, cut just above a leaf node so new side shoots form, and replant healthy tops if you want more plants. Remove floating clippings with a net straight away so they do not decay in the tank. Regular light trims keep carpets dense and stop the lower leaves being shaded out by growth above.

Rinse and dry the scissors after each use, and keep the blades sharp for clean plant cuts.
