How much you need
Absorbex Micro is made of sintered glass rings whose pore channels let water and oxygen flow through, giving nitrifying bacteria an ideal place to settle. Hobby states that a 700g pack lasts about six months in a 200-litre aquarium with an average fish population, so bigger or more heavily stocked tanks will need more or a fresh fill sooner. It can be used in both freshwater and marine aquariums. Place it after the sponge or filter wool so fine dirt does not clog the pores, and when renewing it, swap only part of the media at a time.
Good to know
Place it in a well-flowing part of the filter, and rinse it only in old tank water so the bacteria survive.
