Placing ivy in the terrarium

Climbing species such as day geckos, anoles, tree frogs and chameleons feel more secure with vertical cover, so trail the ivy along the back or side glass to break up open space and give them places to perch and hide. Running it between the basking area and the cooler end creates a sheltered route your animal can use to move between temperatures. Keep the leaves well away from heat lamps and UV fittings, both so the plastic cannot warp and so animals cannot climb too close to a hot bulb. Fix the suction elements to clean, dry glass and press them firmly; in very humid setups, check now and then that they still hold. It combines well with real branches for a natural look.

Rinse artificial plants with warm water from time to time to keep them clean.
