Using it for livebearers

Float the breeder inside the main aquarium so the water temperature and quality match the tank. Move a heavily pregnant guppy, platy, molly or swordtail into it shortly before she is due, as a long stay in a small space can stress her, and the partition lets you keep two females apart at the same time. Once the fry are born, return the mother to the main tank. The breeder can also be used as a small rearing space for fry until they are large enough not to be eaten. Siphon out uneaten food daily to keep the water clean.

Good to know

Move the mother back to the main tank after birth, and feed fry small amounts several times a day.
