Hand-rearing tips

Feed kittens lying on their tummy in a natural nursing position, never on their backs, so milk cannot go down the windpipe. Sterilise bottles and teats between feeds, and test the milk on the inside of your wrist; it should feel warm, not hot. Weigh kittens daily to check they are gaining steadily, and ask your vet for advice with orphaned or weak kittens.
